Today was our final decorating class for Course 1. I really enjoyed class four, we learned how to make roses, sweet peas and leaves. At first they were very frustrating, but once I got the hang of it they got easier. I was very impressed with the final outcome of my cake today, first time with flowers came out pretty good.
I think I will take a break from the classes until the fall. Here is hoping there will be a class in September.
Today we had to decorate a cake with drop flowers, not a favourite of mine. I was really not impressed with this cake, the decorating was boring and the colours I had really didn’t go well together because I thought we were decorating it a different way. Also you will notice….Mike got into it BEFORE I was able to take a picture of it.
Anyways, it is what it is.
This year for my Birthday I got something that I have always wanted, Cake Decorating Lessons, from Wilton. I really enjoy baking and decorating cakes, especially theme cakes, but I really wanted to learn some techniques and more advanced things then what I was doing.
The first class, to be honest, was kinda boring, we just got to watch. We were shown the tools, what we would be doing and learned how to make the butter cream icing, which I am now addicted to!, its so good.
We had to bring a cake already iced and ready to decorate, along with various consistencies of Icing. We all had to do the same cake. Here is how mine turned out.
